Meet the team
Alex Monroe | Founder & Creative Director
Alex Monroe’s story begins in the wild Suffolk countryside of the 1970s, where he grew up in an old, crumbling house surrounded by untamed nature. His childhood was filled with freedom and imagination—roaming fields, forests, and rivers, and inventing all kinds of creative (and occasionally mildly dangerous) tools and gadgets to accompany his adventures.
Moving to London to chase his dreams, Alex embraced the punk spirit while turning his talent for making things into a passion for jewellery design. He trained at the School of Art, Architecture and Design, honing the skills that would shape his future.
In 1986, Alex Monroe established his namesake business with a clear vision: to create originally designed jewellery that is handmade, affordable, and crafted to be worn, loved, and treasured. This ethos remains at the heart of the brand today, reflected in every delicate, nature-inspired piece that leaves the workshop.
