Iain Henderson | Founder, Designer & Jeweller
Iain Henderson’s journey began in workshops with his father, where he developed a fascination with mechanics, metals, and the beauty of engineering. This foundation led him to study Jewellery Making at Bradford College and Silversmithing at Sheffield University, before launching IHD in 1996. His early success supplying collections to over 40 UK jewellers gave way to a focus on bespoke commissions, where Iain found his true calling – working directly with customers to bring their ideas to life.
Over the years, IHD has built a reputation for outstanding customer service, winning multiple North of England Wedding Awards and FSB awards. Today, Iain and his dedicated studio team continue to offer “The IHD Experience” a personal, collaborative, and pressure-free process that makes clients feel at home while creating jewellery that is both meaningful and timeless.
Karl (CAD Designer / Goldsmith) – A master goldsmith and CAD specialist, Karl creates detailed 3D visualisations and produces many of IHD’s bespoke pieces. With over 20 years of bench experience, he thrives on unusual designs that test the limits of craftsmanship.
Donna (Office Manager) – Donna is the first point of contact for most clients, managing the design journey and ensuring seamless communication between the workshop and customers. Her background in customer service keeps IHD’s processes running smoothly.
Asha (Designer / Studio Support) – The newest member of the team, Asha supports both design and office work. With a background in creative industries, she brings fresh ideas and organisational skill to the studio, helping clients feel supported throughout their commission journey.
