Varoshe Family | Founder, Designer & Jeweller
Varoshe Bespoke Jewellery is led by the creative and compassionate family team of Clare, Paul, and Lewis, who together bring a wealth of experience to the world of bespoke jewellery.
Clare’s passion for creativity began early, making clay earrings and painting for her family home. She went on to study jewellery design and manufacturing at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating with a BA (Hons) and winning multiple design awards. After university, Clare returned to Surrey to work as a designer at a Royal Warrant-holding jewellers, where she spent nearly 14 years honing her craft. Today, her intuitive design approach and sensitivity to clients’ stories result in timeless, meaningful pieces that are cherished for life.
Paul began his jewellery career in 1983 at Medway College of Art and Design, graduating with distinction in metalwork. He went on to work with leading names like Nicholls & Durrant and Leo Devroomen, mastering traditional metalsmithing. Over the years, he’s created pieces for prestigious clients including Asprey, Theo Fennell, the Sultan of Brunei, and the Royal Family. Known for his exceptional craftsmanship, Paul’s work ranges from delicate diamond rings to a two-foot-tall gold and diamond Easter egg. In 2009, he received the jewellery industry’s highest honour — the Jacques Cartier Memorial Award — along with three additional Gold Awards for his intricate, working model of an oil rig.
Joining the Varoshe team in 2016 is Lewis, Paul’s son, who as an apprentice is starting to learn the family trade. He has already shown a natural aptitude to working with metal, just like his Dad, so you’re sure to find some of Lewis’ work on display in the showroom before too long.
Together, the Varoshe team works from their Kent studio with one mission: to create pieces that truly matter. Whether it’s a custom bridal commission or a piece to honour a lost loved one, they handle every project with exceptional skill and genuine heart — making jewellery that not only looks beautiful, but feels meaningful.
